You cannot generalise. My wife knows a lot about cars, but then
when all is said or done, Gazelle, are you married? Do you
understand the dynamics of a realtionship? My wife has a lot of say
about what car we buy.
Personally, I like BMs, my E39 has been with me 9 years and I have
only had one major problem this year. Other than that, it runs well
and is very comfortable. I service the car 2x a year, when I used
to have my lexus, I had lots of problems with it as well. Don't be
mistaken, the lexus has just as much electronic gadgets and
controls as the bm, so these two are on even par for faults to
occur, personally, I feel that the lexus is a bit soft, but it is a
personal preference only.
Why don't you and your wife go for a test drive of both cars back
to back and that can tell you heaps about which you might buy.
